Russian Mosin-Nagant 1905 Czarist-Era Rifles

These are made from authentic vintage wooden gunstocks with genuine steel bayonets. (The rifle barrels are made of painted wood.) They are indistinguishable from the correct arms of the 1905 Czarist period. These rifles, and especially the bayonets, add a lot to your Russian soldiers when the Constable tells the villagers they must leave.
There is also a version of the rifle available with a functioning bolt. This means your soldier can work the bolt when the villagers say "We'll fight!" It is an impressive click-click sound that really carries. Then your Constable says "Against our army? I wouldn't advise it."
Not every production desires that extra sound FX and the drama it creates. (After all, the script stands on its own very well!) But if you do use the bolt action sound, it will be something that most audiences haven't heard.
With the prop rifle rental you also receive two cartridge cases. These are leather cases that go on your soldier's belts to hold ammunition. It's just enough of an extra touch to make the Russian look like a soldier. Plus which, these vintage props may be helpful for your actors' character work.
You may get a third cartridge case for the Constable's belt if desired, although if he has any weaponry at all it might be a leather-sheathed pistol. Some directors would think a cartridge case for the Constable is an overstatement. Others might like how that leather accessory visually ties the Constable to his men without being as bold as a pistol would be.
The vintage components of these prop rifles are actually from the 1939 time frame but they are visually the same as the Czarist era rifles. Russia used very similar Mosin-Nagant rifles from 1898 to the 1950's.
One of the two rifles is carbine sized and the other is the longer infantry size. We can arrange it if you want the two to be the same size. We can also supply you with historical data if your actors would benefit from it.
